  • Course Description:

    General Microbiology course involves the study of microorganisms with particular emphasis on the biology of bacteria, viruses, fungi, protozoa and algae. Also, it enhances students’ understanding of the environmental importance of microbes and to exploit them for food production, biotechnological and industrial applications.

     

  • Course Main Objective:
    • 1-To discuss the historical discoveries of Microbiology.
    • 2-To differentiate between prokaryotes and eukaryotes cells.
    • 3-To classify different prokaryotic organisms.
    • 4- To apply general Microbiological principles in microbial growth.
    • 5-To explain the human use of microorganisms, and how organisms’ function in disease.
