- Course Description:
The course aims to provide the student with a theoretical understanding and definition of lower invertebrates and their general characteristic features. The students will gain an appreciation of the diversity of lower invertebrates. The course outline includes classification of lower invertebrates, examples of some invertebrates, their habitat, structure, feeding, metabolism, excretion, respiration reproduction, colonies and development of the major invertebrate groups.
- Course Main Objective:
- 1-Classify typical lower invertebrates into their major taxonomic groupings.
- 2- Familiarize students with the habitat, structure, feeding, excretion, reproduction and development of the major lower invertebrate groups.
- 3- The student will be able to link information in the biology of invertebrates with other biological sciences, and for application to environmental, agricultural and medicinal problems.
